The free office suite

Documentation

LibreOffice is intuitive and easy to use, and many people who work with it every day have never looked at a manual - including migrating Microsoft Office users, who usually find all the features they need are in logical, easy-to-guess places.

Plus, when you do need to check something, the built-in help is a valuable aid that answers most of your questions. But, for many people, nothing replaces a good user guide that teaches you step-by-step how to do what you need to do.

Completed LibreOffice user guides are available for LibreOffice v3.3; they are listed below. Click a link to download a free PDF or ODT copy.
Books for v3.4 are nearing completion. Work has begun on books for version 3.5.
In most cases, the information in v3.3 and 3.4 books also applies to later versions of LibreOffice.

Completed LibreOffice user guides are listed below. Click a link to download a free PDF or ODT copy. Individual chapters of all books, both completed and in progress, are available from this page on the wiki.

Documentation is an on-going work center in the LibreOffice project, and we are hard at work producing much more of it. In keeping with the principles and ethos of a community-driven and community-oriented Open Source project, we plan to provide you with a truly-comprehensive documentation library that addresses every need, from those of personal users to the requirements of corporate and organizational adopters.

If you'd like to see the work we're currently doing, and maybe download instructional and reference content that is usable but not yet up to the high professional-level standards we aim to achieve, visit our documentation wiki pages.

If you have comments or suggestions, please write to us on the documentation mailing list. Even better still, if you have documentation skills and experience, consider getting involved and joining the team!
